Yadessa Emiru Agea Obituary,Sand Harbor Drowning Victim Identified as 32-Year-Old Amazon Software Engineer
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who tragically drowned at Lake Tahoe’s Sand Harbor last weekend as 32-year-old Lekso “Sand” Shavgulidze, a software engineer from Seattle.

Lekso, known affectionately as Sand to his friends and colleagues, was remembered as a brilliant and kind-hearted individual who brought light to every room. His sudden passing has sent waves of grief through his family, the tech community, and all who knew him.
In an emotional statement, his family has extended an open invitation to the public to join them in mourning. “We invite all who knew and loved Sand to join us as we gather to mourn and offer our prayers together,” the family shared. They announced that a traditional Lekso, or memorial service, will be held to honor his life.
The gathering will take place at the AEGBC Church, located at 1201 Joyce Lane in Round Rock, Texas, 78664. It is scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday, August 1st and 2nd, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM CST each day. The family emphasized that a separate, formal memorial service will be announced at a later date.
This community gathering offers a space for friends, former colleagues, and loved ones to share memories, find solace in shared grief, and support one another during this profoundly difficult time. The family finds comfort in the collective remembrance of a life that, though ended too soon, was deeply meaningful to so many.
