It is with deep sadness that the Prince George’s Running Club shares the passing of one of our long-time run club family members, Clare Imholtz—our beloved Clare Bear. Clare recently lost her brave battle with brain cancer, leaving a profound void in our community. She was a truly inspiring member, not only of our club but of the wider parkrun family she cherished.

Clare’s dedication was a constant and comforting presence. As a longtime member, she was a faithful participant in our Half Marathon Program, a familiar and encouraging face at our weekly meetups, and a spirited companion at countless races. More than her consistent participation, however, was the radiant spirit she brought to every mile. Clare embodied the heart of our club; her perseverance, warmth, and genuine joy for running elevated everyone around her. She has been an enduring inspiration and a true source of motivation, showing us all the meaning of resilience and community.

Our thoughts, prayers, and heartfelt condolences are with Clare’s family, her vast network of running friends, and all her loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. We share in your grief and hold you close in our hearts.

We will share additional details regarding services and opportunities to honor Clare’s memory as they become available. While our paths will no longer be physically shared with Clare, her legacy is indelible. Clare will be deeply missed, but her infectious smile, unwavering kindness, heartfelt laughter, and pure love for running will remain with us always, guiding our strides and warming our gatherings. Run in peace, dear friend.
