The River Ridge High School community and the Swain family are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Brody Robert Swain, who passed away unexpectedly on July 26, 2026, at just 15 years old. Born September 28, 2010, Brody’s vibrant spirit touched countless lives, leaving a void that echoes through the halls of his school, the soccer fields he loved, and the hearts of all who knew him.
A sophomore known for his loving and cheerful personality, Brody moved through life with a quick sense of humor and an open heart, naturally cultivating a large, close-knit circle of friends. His laughter was a constant, a gift his family, friends, and classmates will miss every single day.
Brody’s passions were clear and profound. His love for his family was matched only by his dedication to soccer. His journey with the sport began early, with years of play for clubs like Florida Coast Futbol Club, Florida Premier, and Tampa Bay United. A devoted Arsenal fan, he found joy in both playing and watching the game. But Brody’s dreams soared even higher than the soccer pitch; he aspired to become an Air Force fighter pilot and had already begun taking his first determined steps toward that lofty goal.
His faith was a cornerstone of his young life. Attending The Chapel in Trinity, Brody was saved and baptized in 2024 at the age of 13, a commitment that shaped his character and offered solace to those reflecting on his life.
Brody is survived by his parents, Bob and Darlene Swain of New Port Richey; his sister, brother-in-law, and niece, Kylie, Will, and Tayah Faith Leader; his grandparents, Bob Swain, Sr. and Karen Swain, and Joe and Bonnie Welch; and a loving extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Peggy Ann Young.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Memorial Gardens on Saturday, August 1st, at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to the Student Ministry at The Chapel. This tribute supports the youth programs that meant so much to Brody, helping other students grow closer to God and stronger in their faith—a lasting legacy for a remarkable young man whose light, though extinguished too soon, will never be forgotten.
